Professor Drake is Assistant Professor of Instruction at the Ohio University College of Business.
Ms. Drake received her Bachelor of Arts in French and Anthropology from Indiana University, Bloomington, and her Premier Degré from the Institute International d'Etudes Françaises in Strasbourg France where she remained for three years working at the Council of Europe in the Directorate of Legal Affairs and the Directorate of Human Rights before returning to the United States to attend Law School at the University of Minnesota. While attending law school, Laura was an extern to the Honorable Judge Gregory F. Kishel, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, District of Minnesota. Upon graduation, Laura relocated to Ohio. Laura is licensed to practice law in four states, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Kentucky. Originally working in consumer litigation, she opened her own law firm in 2009 where she represented families with children with disabilities in their estate planning and related legal needs. She volunteers on several local and state board of directors for various nonprofit educational and philanthropic organizations and has been recognized for her leadership in these organizations. She began teaching business law and paralegal courses at a community college in 2009, where she was awarded as teacher of the year in 2019, which was also the year she started teaching at Ohio University. |
